TS Series Tubular Steel Masts
SMC have over many years developed a wide range of strong galvanised tubular steel masts suitable for supporting MF and HF wire antennas or large VHF arrays at heights up to 120' (36.6m). These masts are more economical and simple to erect that lattice structures, each section having a belied end which fits over the next section, thus assembly and erection can be carried out by unskilled labour.

All sections are constructed from seamless steel tube to BS4848 part 2 and BS4360 grade 43c and are galvanised inside and out to BS729. Diameters of 3" (76mm) and 3.5" (89mm) are recommended.

These masts are normally fitted for three way guying, but four way guying can be supplied to accommodate greater headloads and also to simplify erection. Guy wires are normally made from high tensile galvanised steel, cut overlength to accommodate sloping sites, each guy being secured by preforms which take less than a minute to make off, are quick and simple to use and require no special tools for fitting.

Each mast is supplied with one set of halyards, but further halyards can be supplied when required. All mast fittings and ground steelwork is hot dipped galvanised. Pole steps are also available for each type of mast as is a comprehensive erection kit.
