Radio Service and Repair

SMC has a fully equipped radio service and production facility and is the only officially appointed Codan Service Centre for Europe, Middle East and Africa. Codan trained engineers ensure that your equipment is repaired in the most economical way, supported by what is probably the largest stock of Codan spares outside of Australia.

While on the subject of Australian products, we also specialise in Eclipse VHF and UHF repeater and base station equipment, manufacturing bespoke systems for customers that include HM Government. Q-Mac HF products round off the antipodes connection with experienced engineers supporting research and exploratory organisations such as Operation Raleigh and the British School Expedition Society, as well as governmental organisations in Africa and the Middle East.

Additionally, as Maxon specialists we regularly incorporate digital encryption modules into the SL55 and PM100/160 ranges of Maxon equipment in use by military and governmental departments in UK, Africa and the Middle East.

All radio production and servicing is subject to ISO9001:2000 procedures and subject to regular audits.

EMC Testing

EMC TEST LABORATORY

SMC can help you achieve EMC compliance of your products. Our personnel have expert knowledge on EMC regulations and test methods as well as LVD requirements, to help you achieve the ‘CE’mark on your product

SMC can also offer a test service for many forms of electrical and electronic equipment, including radio ETS 300 series type approval pre-compliance testing.

CONSULTANCY

We have experienced personnel to advise you on how to achieve CE and ETSI compliance. If the Low Voltage, Electromagnetic and Machinery directives worry you, talk to us!

Signal generation and digital radio code analyser testing to 2GHz.

Antenna measurements including polar diagram plots for HF, VHF and UHF.
